Our Story
Founded in 1985, the Hospitality, Event and Tourism Management Program (HETM) at UNT is one of the largest and best-known Hospitality, Event and Tourism Management programs in the U.S. In addition, the University of North Texas is ranked among the nation’s 115 top-tier research universities, according to the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Our vision is “To be a global leader in advancing education, creating knowledge, and shaping the Hospitality, Event and Tourism Management professionals of the future.” The HETM program seeks to provide our future industry leaders a solid academic foundation combined with extensive training in hospitality business skills, use of technology, and networking with industry professionals. We have earned numerous accolades for our HETM programs and initiatives as a testament to our mission-driven commitment to academic excellence.

There is a special conference rate, the hotel is a few miles from the University of North Texas campus (Frisco), is attached to a large mall, offers free parking, AND our Thursday evening reception will be held there.

You can upload your paper via the EasyChair paper submission system and check on its current status in the review process. Please click on the following button to access paper submission's system.
WFCHRIE Scholarship Application
Six (6) $500 scholarships will be awarded – three (3) for graduate/undergraduate students, and three (3) for faculty members/lecturers. Award winners must be current West Federation CHRIE members, register and attend the conference. A check will be prepared and delivered to awardees at the conference.

Call for Nomination
Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award
West Federation CHRIE is pleased to announce the call for nominations for our Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award, sponsored by California State University, Sacramento. This award recognizes significant achievements of individuals in developing a diverse and inclusive environment throughout the hospitality and tourism education, academia, industry, and/or community. The attachment provides details about the nomination process. Nominations are due January 7.
